PHOENIX, Arizona — October 24, 2026
The Phoenix Suns bounced back in impressive fashion Saturday night, defeating the Golden State Warriors 131–122 in their home opener at Mortgage Matchup Center.
Devin Booker looked like the Booker of old and delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 43 points while adding seven rebounds and seven assists. He helped Phoenix overcome a slow start and take control of the game in the third quarter, scoring 17 points in the period. He also scored three critical buckets to close out the game in the fourth quarter and his teammates were following his lead, like most team leaders donor their team on a nightly basis.
Miles Bridges contributed 16 points, while Dillon Brooks added 15 points and five assists. Luke Kennard made an immediate impact in his Suns debut, scoring 11 points and knocking down three three-pointers.
Golden State fought back in the third quarter, briefly taking the lead with a 12–0 run. However, Booker answered with a four-point play late in the period, helping Phoenix regain momentum. The Suns entered the fourth quarter ahead 102–92 and eventually stretched their advantage to 15 points.
The Warriors were led by rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, who scored 26 points, and De’Anthony Melton, who added 25. Golden State struggled without several key players, including Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
The victory was an encouraging response after Phoenix opened the season with a disappointing 124–83 loss to Portland. However, defensive consistency and rebounding remain areas the Suns need to improve. getting a win over a short Warriors team is not something to write home about, but a win is a win and wining breeds confidence going forward.
Phoenix now turns its attention to a difficult road matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. If Booker continues playing at this level and the Suns tighten up their defense, they could carry valuable momentum into their next challenge.
Final Score: Phoenix Suns 131, Golden State Warriors 122.
Go Suns!
