The JB and Benny Blue Review Podcast was started in April of 2016 by two new friends bonded by their love of football, hip-hop, and savagery.
Jeremy “JB” Bridges is a former offensive lineman in NFL, playing 10 years in the league for the Eagles, Redskins, Panthers, and Cardinals (Go #Birdgang). Since retiring, he has become a coach and fitness professional, and enjoys spending time with his children, and taking your girl.
Ben “Benny Blue” Rhinesmith is a former music and sports publicist turned stand-up comedian and podcaster. He can be regularly seen performing in venues all over Los Angeles, and enjoys making women weep and men cower. He is an avid Lions fan, and requires heart medication in order to get through their games.
Together, they are producing one of the fastest rising sports and entertainment podcasts around. The show is built on a simple idea: no “hot takes”, just real talk. Not afraid to say what they want, listeners can expect hilarious perspectives backed up with unfiltered truth and plenty of memorable (and NSFW) phrases and sayings.
On this episode of The Review, the Savage Duo is joined by JB’s star OL pupil and winner of our “For The People” NFL.com Fantasy Football League Mike Lonski! We discuss his fantasy team strategy, training with JB and learning multiple offensive line positions, playing for the rising Western New Mexico Mustangs program, and his beloved NY Giants! Then, they all break down the 2019 NFL Season and make their patented predictions for Super Bowl LIV!
The Review returns to deliver one of the hardest episodes to record in the show’s history. JB and Benny are back to discuss the untimely and tragic death of Kobe Bryant along with his daughter GiGi and others on board of their crashed helicopter. They discuss his impact both on and off the court, reflect on his greatness, and how tragic events should inspire people to seek forgiveness and reflect on what is most important in life.
On this episode of the Review, the boys open up by shouting out LSU on their CFB Playoff Championship win and discuss the hypocrisy of the college football, followed by JB taking a moment to address some of society’s ills as we move into the new decade. From there, they come in HOT for the 4th Edition of the #DontBeDumb Awards, handing out the busts to the dumbest athletes, teams, and individuals from 2019! Finally, they recap the wild NFL Divisional Weekend and go IN on NFL Championship Weekend #SavagePicks!
Due to unforeseen circumstances (which JB eloquently breaks down in our intro), the Review was gone for NFL Wild Card weekend, but they return like the Mack for a brand new high quality podcast episode! First, JB and Benny discuss the recent NFL head coach hirings and the affect (or lack there of) that the Rooney Rule has had on providing coaches of color an opportunity to run a team. Then, with the stakes at their highest all season, they recap the WILD, Wild Card Weekend and choose carefully for 2019/2020 NFL Playoffs Divisional Round #SavagePicks!
The ‘ol Ball is about to drop on a new decade, but The Review never fumbles when it comes to giving you quality content! The boys kick things off by going in on the 2019 CFB Bowl Season, including JB’s SMTTT (So. Miss) against rival Tulane, Blue’s UofM against Bama, and the CFB Playoff matchups (Geaux Tigers!) Then, they roll into the most contested week of 2019 NFL #SavagePicks — Week 17!!
The Holidays are here and the Review is back to give you the best gift of them all — a quality podcast episode! The boys kick things off with another edition of JB’s PATENTED #JBsBurning! He goes in on the recent sex tape/pictures leaked of ASAP Rocky and Steph Curry, and why women should slow their role when it comes to poppin’ s*** about sex! Then, they ride smooth into a crucial Week 16 of 2019 NFL #SavagePicks!
Season’s Greetings from the Review as the Savage Duo rolls in smooth with another quality episode! They kick things off by discussing Joe Burrow’s journey to the Heisman, Brother Nature getting ALL the smoke he wanted in his diner fight, and why Lizzo’s cheeks at Lakers game represents attention seeking and not female empowerment! Then, they go DEEP into 2019 NFL Week 14 & Week 15 and break down the AFC/NFC playoff pictures, Hot Seats for Coaches, and which teams could possibly make a run out of the Wild Card!
After discussing what happened to social media sensation and friend of the podcast Brother Nature, the Savage Duo faces the hard truths and encouraging signs from JB’s AZ Cardinals on their patented “State of the Birdgang” Segment! Then, they discuss the jank ass COWBOYS, the untimely firing of Riverboat Ron by the Panthers, and go into a playoff implicated week of 2019 NFL Savage Picks!
After their annual bye week and a glorious Thanksgiving, the Savage Duo is back and joined by special guest Dr. Timothy J. Tinkle to discuss the death of Michigan Football, and why Jim Harbaugh is a lot closer to the Cowboys’ Jason Garrett than people may think, and officially announce it’s time for Ol Khaki Man to go. Then, they discuss the hot start for Tim’s Lakers and why JB does not mess with teams like the Warriors at all. Finally, they recap the last two weeks of football before riding high into Week 13 #SavagePicks!
On this episode of the Review, JB takes some time to burn on the latest drama circling the NFL, including the incomplete and inaccurate narrative around the Myles Garrett/Mason Rudolph incident during the Steelers/Browns TNF Game. Then, the boys break down Colin Kaepernick’s scheduled and subsequently altered workout for NFL teams and why it just might not be meant for him to play in the league anymore. Finally, the Savage Duo rolls into an abridged version of NFL Week 11 #SavagePicks!
