The JB and Benny Blue Review Podcast was started in April of 2016 by two new friends bonded by their love of football, hip-hop, and savagery.
Jeremy “JB” Bridges is a former offensive lineman in NFL, playing 10 years in the league for the Eagles, Redskins, Panthers, and Cardinals (Go #Birdgang). Since retiring, he has become a coach and fitness professional, and enjoys spending time with his children, and taking your girl.
Ben “Benny Blue” Rhinesmith is a former music and sports publicist turned stand-up comedian and podcaster. He can be regularly seen performing in venues all over Los Angeles, and enjoys making women weep and men cower. He is an avid Lions fan, and requires heart medication in order to get through their games.
Together, they are producing one of the fastest rising sports and entertainment podcasts around. The show is built on a simple idea: no “hot takes”, just real talk. Not afraid to say what they want, listeners can expect hilarious perspectives backed up with unfiltered truth and plenty of memorable (and NSFW) phrases and sayings.
We’re halfway through 2020 and COVID-19 is still creating large uncertainties within our lives and throughout the world of sports, but The Review is here to make sense of it all! JB breaks down Cam Newton’s new deal with the Patriots and why he called the signing all along, while Benny predicts that Colin Kaepernick may very well end up back with the 49ers. Then, they discuss the NBA Bubble, the upcoming NFL season plans, and how sports leagues will adjust week-to-week during the continued global pandemic!
While the Rona continues to delay sports and life in general, the Review is back to breakdown the excellent “The Last Dance” docuseries on Michael Jordan and the Bulls. The boys discuss Michael’s “bully” rep, being real and the code of sports, and ask why Mike forgot how to dress after the 90s. Then, they introduce their new “What Had Happened Was” segment discussing Joe Biden’s attempt at humor and walking back his “You Ain’t Black” interview comment. Finally, they are joined by former NFL lineman and current student-athlete mentor Antoine McClain to discuss his journey in football, the necessary changes needed to improve hiring in the NFL, and his future goals and aspirations in our BeRealWithYourGrind™ Interview Series!
In these uncertain times filled with no sports, too much Netflix, and not enough workouts, the Review is back just in time to provide you with the quality content you need to make it through! On this episode, the Savage Duo is joined by JB’s friend, former teammate, and 15 year NFL vet Lorenzo Alexander!
The Review’s Podcast Anniversary is here and to make it extra special, the Savage Duo of JB and Benny Blue are joined by their friends and streaming partners at KSRN Arizona/ KazualSportz.com for their live stream of the 2020 NFL Draft First Round! Money Makin’ Mitch, Javon “J-Luv” Adams, Earl “Kazual E” Burnett, and “Greasy” Sean McConnell join the panel to go in on some pre-draft questions as well as breakdown the final KSRN Mock Draft. Then, the boys break down each of the top 15 picks of the draft in realtime and talk a lil’ sh*t along the way!
Have you ever wanted to go back and slap the sh*t out of the GM of your favorite team for drafting (or not drafting) a player that ended up having an amazing career?! Well, The Review can relate, especially the 185th overall in the SIXTH round pick, 10 year NFL vet Jeremy Bridges! After a quick Quarantine check-in with our Special Boxing Correspondent and the Ultimate Savage™ Kevin Robinson, JB breaks down the NFL’s flawed evaluation process, how he fell to the sixth round, and where he believes he should have been selected. Then, the boys draw up their boards and re-select the top 15 picks of the 2003 NFL Draft!
The world is under Corona Virus Quarantine, so what better time than now to start The Review’s patented “Be Real With Your Grind™” Interview Series! On this episode, the boys talk to Jeremy Kenyel aka Jeremy Strong! They discuss his new music and creative process, his passion for dance and working with major stars like Jason DeRulo, and staying fit during these uncertain times. Finally, they wrap up by discussing his beloved Atlanta Falcons and the team’s outlook for the 2020 NFL Season!
While on our bi-weekly recording schedule, the madness of COVID-19 aka “The Corona Virus” has virtually stopped the world, and brought the sports world especially to a grinding halt. In an effort to better connect with our listeners, The Review decided to record Episode 150 of the podcast on IG Live, discussing the topics The Reviewers wanted to hear. The boys go in on the Arizona Cardinals major offseason moves, NFL Free Agency (Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, and more), Tiger King, Government Conspiracies, and Quarantine Fitness!
The Review may be on its bi-weekly schedule, but that doesn’t stop the world from turning, especially in these NFL streets! The Savage Duo opens the show up by breaking down the new NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Players and the Owners. They discuss what the owners want, what the players want, and what the stars of the league may have to risk in order to get an equal piece of the pie for everyone. Then, the boys break down the much anticipated matchup and make their patented predictions for Wilder/Fury II!
