Sean McConnell of Kazual Sportz is a Web Designer by trade and an Arizona Sports fan by heart. Getting his feet wet in sports journalism, Sean started by writing fan based articles for the Fansided blog named “Raising Zona”. It was there that he developed a passion for the opinions of sports fans. Born and raised in Arizona, Sean has no room for bandwagon fandom or non-Arizona sports teams in his life. Call him a homer, but expect him to give his honest opinion of the teams that he loves.
The hometown Arizona Cardinals have officially made a change at quarterback. Rookie Josh Rosen will start at home against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday in what appears to be a “the future is now” move. Sam Bradford has been shut down after an abysmal 2 3/4 game performance. It is speculated that the offense will certainly be less stagnant with Rosen in the lineup, but I would like to go deeper. Will a change at quarterback actually help David Johnson in fantasy football?
The Cardinals season is all but over, but many fans feel that it is already over. The Bruce Arians era is in the review mirror in what seems like only had lasted a moment. But a funny thing happened recently, the NFL Films Documentary “A Football Life” recently released a new episode on none other than Carson Palmer. What better way to distract us from the present, by looking at the past.
After a tough loss Sunday to the Washington Redskins, close to 200 fans lined up at the Free Agent Sports Fan Cave Sports Collectibles Store in Paradise Valley Mall to meet Cardinals star Running Back David Johnson. Members of the AZ Birdgang Fam were exclusively allowed to say hello, take a picture, and even got an autograph from their favorite Cardinal. We saw plenty of good items being signed; custom helmets, posters, magazine covers. Even a few UNI Mini Helmets showed up to David’s surprise.
The kicker position in fantasy football is one that tends to be an easy joke to be made come draft time. “Hey, at least I didn’t draft a kicker in the first round like Joe did in his auto draft” We get the point, in leagues were yards and touchdowns reign supreme, kickers tend to be the least important position on your roster. There are some players out there that believe who heartedly that you shouldn’t even draft a kicker at all.
The Arizona Cardinals generated a little buzz yesterday, announcing a new naming rights partner, State Farm. The organization has ended their naming rights agreement with The University of Phoenix after a 12-year relationship. The former company will continue to be a partner of the Arizona Cardinals in a smaller relationship. State Farm has agreed to an 18-year naming rights agreement that will rename that stadium “State Farm Stadium.”
The roster has been set, the Arizona Cardinals have narrowed the team down to 53. I have to admit, there were a lot of surprises for me with this roster. Let me start by saying no, I am not surprised that Mike Glennon is still on the roster. I didn’t see any team jumping up to trade for him and it would have been insane if the Cardinals had two rookies behind Sam Bradford to start the season. There were, however, some players that were retained that shocked me…
Steve Keim’s suspension for DUI is now over and many fans are wondering, why haven’t we heard anything yet? Michael Bidwill had stated in the beginning that Keim will return when he meets other requirements, including counseling. One can deduce that not everything has been completed to Bidwill’s standards.
NFL preseason is well underway and the NFL bubbles are forming. This is where NFL teams are made, where no-name players show up, and where others fade into obscurity. Spoilers ahead, this list may include one of your favorite players (no, not Larry Fitzgerald).
After the loss of Cardinals Center A.Q. Shipley, the team looks to rookie Mason Cole as their heir starter. Many players, fans, and coaches see this as a natural fit. Time will soon tell how he will perform for the Cardinals, so let’s look back at his time in Michigan.
