Suns Getting Ready for a Hot Celtics Team in Boston

Phoenix-AZ The Phoenix Suns are coming off a back-to-back. They are getting ready for a hot Celtic team. The Celtics just got their star player, Jason Tatum, back.

This will be a tough match-up. The Suns have not fared well against the Celtics on the road. They have also not fared well at home over the last few years. The last time the Suns beat the Celtics was Feb 2nd 2023, when they had Chris Paul.

The Suns are close to making a run for the six seed in the playoffs. However, they continue to squander their opportunities when they present themselves.

They would have been just one game out if they had won that game against the Raptors. However, they ran into some closing errors. These errors slowed down a game they had control of throughout.

The Suns need another big signature win. This will show they are a team hard to deal with in the postseason. They are currently (39-28). They are again one game out of the six spot. This happened after the Wolves lost to the Thunder on Sunday.

The main issue for this team is having several guys playing well at the same time. Most teams wish they could have this problem. The minutes are being divided out, and it’s getting hard to deny the rookies Rasheer Fleming and Khaman Maluach.

The emergence of Jalen Green has also led other players, like Colin Gillespie, to go into a slump. He is finding it hard to find the shots he was getting before Green’s return.

The road trip will get harder in Boston. The Suns can make some noise if they can keep pace with the powerhouse Celtics. The last game was less than a few weeks ago, and Green was trying to find his game. Now with a different Green, maybe the stars in this game will cancel each other out.

The bench will be the difference in the contest. Can the Suns keep them from scoring in the paint? Can they slow down the three-point shot from roll players at home?

The Suns played the Celtics to a close first half in the last game; it was a one-possession game. That was without Jalen Brown and, of course, Tatum. Those guys both in the lineup will make this a very hard task for the guys in purple. The Suns were without Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks in the first game and played a pretty good first half.

Expect around 100 three-point shots to be attempted by both teams combined. These teams are at the top of the league in attempts. The team that maintains a 40% success rate on three-point shots throughout the game will win.
