This off-season the Arizona Cardinals acquired star wide receiver De’Andre Hopkins via trade, the team knew the spectacular was coming, it was only a matter of time.
The Cardinals offense struggled to punch the ball in the end-zone three drives in the first half settling for field goals, as the defense did a great job of bending but not breaking the second half.
While the defense held the Buffalo Bills explosive offense to three field goals themselves in the fist half, which kept the Redbirds in the game until the offense got its act together in the second half.
The offense made its comeback behind the legs of Kyler Murray scoring two running touchdowns and eventually took the lead 26-23.
After taking the lead the defense continued to get the ball back to the offense, but the offense looked like it just couldn’t close the deal with one drive ending in a Murray interception that bounced off the sure handed Larry Fitzgerald.
The next time the offense got the ball back there were 4:31 left in the game and the team decides to throw the ball on three straight plays even after running back Kenyon Drake ran the ball in the second half very well.
The Bills offense took advantage of the mis-play calls that stopped the clock, leaving them time to eat the clock up and score what appeared to be the winning touchdown from Josh Allen to Stephan Diggs.
After the catch on cornerback Patrick Peterson the Bills sideline celebrated with screams and high fives, leaving .34 second left on the clock for Kyler and the Cards offense.
Then De’Andre Hopkins and Kyler Murray showed why they will be a spectacular tandem for years to come, as Murray rolled out to his left avoiding a sack and launched a wobbling ball in the air to the end zone.
Hopkins was blanketed by three Bills players as he elevated in between all three guys and snagged the ball out of the air.
The Buffalo players touched the ball simultaneously, but could not shake loose the ball from the sure tight grip hands of the dreaded star.
Leaving .02 seconds on the game clock the Cardinals walked out with a big win 32-30 and snatched the victory out from under the once happy Bills sideline.
Cardinals are now tied for first place in the NFC West heading into Seattle to play the Seahawks on a short week on Thursday night football this week.
This type of victory can be a win that can propel the Cardinals to win the west and be a strong contender in the playoffs this year.
Hopkins finished the game with 7 catches for 127 yards and the one spectacular winning touchdown, and this is for certain not the only time we will see this tandem make plays like this in the future.
