Kobe Bryant and Daughter Gianna Perish in Tragic Helicopter Crash

i

The NBA family lost one of its greats today. Kobe Bryant dies at the age of 41 in a helicopter crash early morning outside of Los Angeles near Calabasas. Bryant was traveling to LA for a youth basketball game for his 13 year old daughter Gianna whom also perished in the crash.

The reports are that there were nine people total in the crash including Bryant who is survived by his wife Vanessa and their three other daughters. This is coming off a monumental night where he was surpassed by Lebron James on the all time scoring list, in his home town of Philadelphia just some 12 hours before this horrific accident.

Kobe Bryant was born on August 23rd 1978, the son of Joe “JellyBean” Bryant.

Playing in Los Angeles as a Laker holds high expectations for everyone, and Kobe Bryant was thrusted into high expectations right after high school, and successfully played twenty years for the Lakers.  In 1998, at the age of 19 he became the youngest player in NBA history to be a starter for an all pro team. In 1996, the Lakers were able to trade for the draft rights of number 8 and signed Shaquille O’Neal.

The dynamic duo played nine years together for the Lakers and won three NBA championships together. Bryant finished his NBA career with five championships; a feat not many basketball players have been able to accomplish in their lifetime.  The Mamba  will be mostly remembered for his 81 point game against the Toronto Raptors or scoring 62 points against the Dallas Mavericks and then not playing in the fourth quarter. Kobe is currently number four on the all-time scoring list with 33,643 points.

The Black Mamba is a future first round ballot Hall of Famer, with two Finals MVP’s, one regular season MVP award, an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive team, and Lakers fans and the NBA fan base will forever remember him as one of the greatest of all time.  Bryant’s family will always remember him as a caring and supporting family man, and the community hopes the best for the Bryant family on this tragic day in history.

The shock around the world is that of the magnitude of the tragic sudden loss of Princess Diana, and the King of pop Michael Jackson, and all of the love coming from all over the globe from his NBA family and a like.

So many over whelming Tweets and messages showing their love and condolences to one of the greatest Lakers of all time, eight games were on the docket on this tragic day and the start of those games all showed their respects in tribute. Every team took either an eight second violation or a 24 second shot clock violation and before the game .24 seconds of silence in his memory.

2020 has gotten off to a tragic start, in the loss of David Stern and now the sudden tragic passing of one of the NBA’s greatest icons Kobe “Bean” Bryant.
